What Does it Mean to “Dare to Dave?”

At OpGo Marketing, we’re always looking for ways to shake things up and bring a little extra magic to our workplace. As part of our mission to create the best place to work, the Culture & Inclusion Committee (CIC) has been hard at work, focusing on collaboration, belonging, and mutual respect. And in our latest meeting, we took a wild turn into the animal kingdom!

The Birth of Dave

During a brainstorming session aimed at redefining our company culture, we posed an intriguing question: “If OpGo were an animal, what would we be?” The room came alive with creativity as everyone shared their thoughts. 

Some envisioned us as a lion, symbolizing leadership and strength, much like how we lead industry trends and deliver powerful results. Others saw a monkey, embodying creativity and playfulness, reflecting our innovative approach and ability to find fresh solutions. The cheetah was mentioned for its speed and agility, mirroring our quick adaptation to trends and client needs. The hawk was chosen for its birds-eye-view on projects and ability to dial into specifics, representing our strategic vision and attention to detail. Lastly, the dog symbolizes our acceptance of every business, big and small, and our “happy to be there” mentality.

But why choose just one animal when we could merge all these incredible traits into one? Using the power of AI, we combined these characteristics to create a unique, hybrid mascot. Thus, Dave was born – a majestic blend of lion, monkey, cheetah, hawk, and dog, representing everything that makes OpGo special. And that’s when Nate, our talented web designer, took it upon himself to bring Dave to life in our own distinctive way.

Why Dave?

The name Dave might seem ordinary, but that’s exactly the point. Dave symbolizes the everyday hero in all of us – approachable, fun, and a bit of a legend. He’s not just a mascot; he’s a reflection of our company values and our commitment to working together as one cohesive team. Dave stands for the diversity of strengths and perspectives that each team member brings to OpGo.

From this creative exercise emerged our new motto: Dare to Dave. It’s more than just a catchy phrase; it’s a challenge and a call to action in our marketing endeavors. Dare to collaborate on innovative campaigns, dare to think outside the box with unconventional strategies, and dare to embrace the quirky and creative to captivate our audience.
